On July 18th, we saw the doctor to determine if fertility medicine we had been taking was going to work. The goal was to see folicles(eggs) in my ovaries ready to drop(ovulation) with a sonogram. The news was good and bad. One ovary had two eggs ripe and ready to go. The other showed nothing, except a large cyst sitting right on top of it. She also saw that my uterine wall was measuring a little thicker than it should have been. These were all things we were told not to be alarmed about. She recommended attempting to conceive and we would go from there. If conception was not successful, we would stop trying temporarily, to further investigate the suspicious conditions through a biopsy and other tests.
On July 23rd, after a very uncomfortable week of nausea, I took a pregnancy test. Positive, very positive.
We went to our first prenatal Dr. appointment today, which was supposed to be a four week appointment, turns out we're more like six weeks along. (We may have already been pregnant at the appointment on the 18th.) Dr. Paroski says everything looks very good. She'll be watching closely due to several high risk factors. We're working to control my high blood pressure with medicine and my nausea with more medicine, and some digestive issues with even more medicine. Other than that, I'm experiencing all the other typical pregnancy symptoms. Eric has been working very hard to keep me comfortable and happy. He's been amazing. I'm sure he'll appreciate any sympathy you can offer him in having to deal with a very emotional pregnant wife.
